Also, reviws of budget but quality equipment, tips-n-tricks, advice and much more.
My is aim is to keep this channel simple, and easy to follow, to show you how to use, and to get the very best views out of your new telescope.

Svbony Dielectric Diagonal
Переглядів 7 тис.11 місяців тому
The diagonal is one thing beginners tend to overlook as an important thing to upgrade. You can lose a lot of light and image quality with mediocre stock diagonals so upgrading them is always advisable and I can't think of a better one for the money to recommend than this fine example by Svbony. Ultra Low Power Svbony 40 mm Plossl Eyepiece
Переглядів 12 тис.11 місяців тому
Svbony have kindly sent me their 40mm Plossl to have a look at and at 40 mm it's about the lowest power you can go when it comes to eyepiece focal length. So why on earth would you need such low power/magnification for astronomy? Well the answer may just be the solution to one of the more common frustrations beginners get when learning to use a telescope. PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT GET PAID IN ANY W...

5 Household Items That Can Be Used For Astronomy
Just bought the 68° 6mm eyepiece on Amazon for £46. There was a 20% voucher at the time. Nice one! Yes I know it's a lot more money for the extra 2° but I don't trust the 666 one. 😂
The sudden light actually bleaches out the rhodopsin (visual purple) to a great extent. The only thing you can do is filter it out the intense light before it happens or - sadly - wait to fully night adapt again (which can take from 30 to 45 minutes).
From a bortle 6 city, with a 4 inch FPL51 F7 refractor I simply wasn't able to see M101. Bode's galaxy, M82, M106, M94, M63, M51 are all visible but M101 simply isn't.
Orion space probe II. If you’re unsure of the eq mount spend 130 dollars and you get a decent scope and decent mount to see if it suits you.
Again. Another Great Video. All of them I have watched so far are that way. One thing to note is that they are not in the least bit boring. They are all very informative as well as being very humorous as well. The second thing to note is that you are great at explaining things (including Technical Terms), in what most people would call "Laymans" terms of which are easy for even beginners to understand. Of which make them highly interesting to watch and to learn something from. - I highly recommend them for both beginners, as well as Beginning "Back Yard" Atronomers. - Thank You once again Sir.
Thank you for your kind words, my friend .
WOW! AGAIN. Another Very Informative Video. Especially for beginners and beginning "Back Yard" Astronomers. - Thank You Sir.
Back when I was "Knee-High To A Grasshopper", my parents told me that the moon was made out of "Green Cheese". Well, maybe that "Green Moon Filter" just brings out the true color of that "Green Cheese" of which I was told the "Moon" was made out of. - Just Kidding. - LOL. We all know different now that we are all grown up.....Right? Well. At this time, the Astronauts who've already landed on the Moon aren't revealing any Green Cheese secrets as of yet. Maybe the next set of Astronauts who land on the Moon will tell us. - Again, Just Kidding. LOL. Anyway. Thanks for a Great and Very Informative Video. - I have enjoyed your informative videos. - Keep up the great work.
Thanks , great info, but how i use this a bit more exactly then using my big fingers who are useally stuck in my nose?
I'm super new to this hobby and got a d# 130 f#650 vixen. I also got a 8mm eyepiece with a 2x Barlow can I see any planets?
Hello there, yes, definitely.. But I would advise just using the 8mm on its own. Otherwise, you will have too much magnification and will struggle with focus and keeping the planet in the f.o.v.. Good luck have fun.
More. Do more.
Would you say there is much difference between the red and gold band Svbony lenses? Love your content by the way.
hot damn!
Thank you sir, very good and useful explanation!!
Superb video! Cheers.
Nice live chat. If svbony is willing to send products for review, I'd love to see you review the SV225 Alt-Azimuth Mount, seem like a great mount for a small refractor. It's got positive comments about it on cloudynights
Never thought I'd come across an experienced astronomer's video using a motor for tracking but it's not tracking not even with the extra voltage because he's dropped the motor and can't polar align. 🤣 This is why I love your videos. Totally unscripted, genuine, honest and you never know what is going to happen. Thank you for this unexpected live. Really enjoyed it but please give more notice if you can in future. I know it's not always possible with the weather.
LOL! Clumsy is my middle name... Yes , sorry about the short notice it was a spur of the moment video to be honest but in the future I promise to give better notice... Thanks for watching .
100% feeling the same about this channel.
What eyepiece did you use?
Hello there. Svbony 20 mm Gold line.. Thanks for watching my friend.
Oh ok. Thanks.
Some good objects out in the sky now here in the northwest
I love your channel! I discovered it after purchasing my telescope, which is the same model as yours, and it has quickly become my favorite knowledge base. Great work! Regarding the Celestron 15x70 binoculars, they are truly my best purchase. They are not that heavy and only require a tripod if you want to observe the Galilean moons or craters on the moon. For viewing the Pleiades or the Beehive Cluster, a tripod isn't crucial. The collimation in this model is excellent; online reviews confirm this, and I've had no issues with mine. The only drawbacks are the bag, which isn't of great quality, and the cheap adapter included for mounting the binoculars on a tripod. I did replace the adapter, although the included one works fine on windless nights.
That's great to know my friend about the Celestron bino's , like I say I've not had any experience with them it's only rumour I've heard.
This channel made me want to get into the hobby. You have helped me a great deal and have been my inspiration.Sending my best wishes to you my friend.
Would love to see more videos like this of what there is to see and how to find them. You explain it really well.
Was this book made before there were any photographs this good of DSOs?
Mine didn't take any videos....
Hi Jason! Im glad i found you channel! I like your style! Down to earth !! Alot of common sense! Im new to all of this. Wish i knew what i know now before i bought 2 telescopes!! Both are way out of collomation!! The secondary mirror was just about to fall of from the careful shipping the scope received!!!! Unbelievable!! The lazer i bought is out also!!! So this method saved the day!!! Was very discuraged but now im onto it!! Thanks a bunch!!! I have a ton of questions so be ready!!!! Ha!
👍
Thank you so much very much appreciated
I've been doing this a while and have attended a few club meetups and things like that, and never claim to know it all, but would have thought there were no surprises left for me. Looking through your channel even though I'm not a newbie, just because you're so clear and down to Earth, and this has really surprised me! Can't wait to look for this next time the scope is out. WELL DONE YOU for finding this yourself and for actually sharing it because no one else has. 😂
Excellent video. Just what i needed, a dive into basics. Now, how about a video on dark frames and light frames and all that malarkey i'm trying to grasp...
Just got my first computerized telescope the other day! So exciting. Loving your channel, keep up the great work!
Hi I have disassemble my telescope lenses ..is there any video where I can see ?
Thank for your Explanation :D great Job you done, i am new to Teleskops, i buyed a few Weeks ago an Firsrt Light AR 102/1000m with EQ Mount, i love it, it is so comfortable to follow the Sun or Moon, i hope i can see in the nearer Future Saturn, Jupiter and Mars :) Best regards from Germany :)
You are more than welcome my friend.. Thank you for watching.
@@smalloptics753 thank you too :) i will watch other Videos from you, you explained it very well for my understanding. I can´t waitfor the arriv of my new Okular i have had purchchased an Meade 4000 UWA 6,7mm Made in Japan, was reativley cheap, i had luck with it :D
The k.i.s.s. method 🙂
Thank you now that I pointed it to something further away I can actually see through it!!
i am COMPLETELY new to this thing....i hooked my DSLR to the Celestron Astromaster 144 that i bought used on FaceBook marketplace this week. I took it out in the DAYTIME and all i am seeing in the LCD is blobs of color; absolutely no definition
I really like the way you demonstrate things, even l can keep up.
Excellent.
Also called a T-Ring or M42 Lens Mount (that Svbony Barlow, standard 42 mm X 0.75 mm thread pitch), and available in M48, and M54 Lens Mount sizes. Keep spreading the good word!
Whenever I capture something windows doesnt let me view it. is this normal??
Hey Jason, thanks for putting up this video. I'm new to astronomy and got my first telescope 12" dob. I had NO IDEA my laser wasn't collimated. I tested it out and sure enough it was way off. I got my telescope properly collimated now and super excited to see the difference tonight!
Excellent observations. I agree with you about Plossls. Fantastic value. Sharp, clear and reliable. Also agree about simply using a barlow to get more magnification.
Nothing surprises me anymore Jason😱
Thank you for an excellent review on this powerful eyepiece. Nice too see a review from you again. Clear skys
I love how you tell folks what to expect. So many people have walked up to my telescope while I'm camping or out in the desert (I always invite folks to come have a look) and they say "is that it?" then I have to go into the difference between photographs and what your eye can see.
Ignorant people. Everywhere.
please tell me she got a refund from her education department
Hahaha 🤣
I can only see white is that normal?
I had the same problem I had to point it so something further away
I thought Lance Armstrong went to the moon and Neil Armstrong won the tour de France and Louis Armstrong died in a pearl diving accident he didn't make the 10 min. Mark
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol.
